Entrepreneurs and corporate executives will each devote eight hours a year to assisting micro, small and medium enterprises.

“‘Entrepreneurs and executives creating an economic impact on MSMEs’ is part of the program by Empretec at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD),” reports Elsiglo.com.

Lourdes Navarro, director of the Empretec Center for Entrepreneurship Development in Panama, explained that the goal is to impact MSMEs so that economic empowerment in the country is sustainable by organizing executives and entrepreneurs who have studied abroad often, to volunteer and transfer that information to those creating jobs in the country.

“It’s like a relay race in which several executives and entrepreneurs will impact on an MSME with everything they need to start or develop for a year. The executive or entrepreneur will make a simple report at the end indicating what else the MSME needs in order to strengthen itself, to then pass on to another advisor employer with the standards used in the final report,” said Navarro, adding that in two months they wish to have the greatest number of volunteers in order to launch the first pilot.

Meanwhile, Alberto Bolana, a partner at PkT Panama, which is dedicated to technology services for fashion shops, said it is an excellent idea, it is important to help others to grow.
