This month, Sport Fishing Magazine features Panama as a world class destination, one which it most definitely is. My friend Doug Olander, Editor and Chief of the magazine shared a copy of the article with me. It covers some of the better operators here in Panama, many of whom I have had the pleasure of fishing with.
I live to fish.
My Father fished the waters here including Hannibal Bank and Isla Montuosa in the early 50’s when he was stationed here. I was born here in 54 and now fish the same waters, sometimes with his original terminal tackle!! I now share the experience with my two sons and daughter. Probably the most incredible day was when we were all out on a Father’s Day when I got a 500 pound Blue Marlin and kept getting distracted by a Humpback with her calf playing about 200 yards away.
I also love catching!!
Sport Fishing magazine is probably the most read magazine in the world by fishing enthusiasts. Here is the kind of operation Panama is attracting and one I love that is featured in Sport Fishing Magazine. Gone fishing with John Gorman
More operators and fishermen will come here as Panama gains notoriety. Fishermen spend hundreds of millions of dollars here and it is one of the biggest segments of the growth of future tourism. The government offices, air carriers and the tourism officials need to pay attention to this. Here is the link to the article
