The shipbuilding company Ocea is interested in investing in Panama, through a project to install a shipyard for maintenance and construction of ships.
In this sense, representatives of the company Ocea met with the Minister of Commerce and Industries (MICI), Julio Moltó, where they presented the project that will not only benefit national institutions, but will also seek to meet the demands of the international market.
According to Ocea’s Director for the Americas, Yorgo Hernández, this project will be developed in several phases, which will allow continuous evaluation and adaptation to the needs of the sector.
Hernández stressed that his interest in the country is due to its strategic location on key maritime routes, a system of free zones with tax exemptions, and a modern infrastructure, in addition to incentives such as the Multinational Companies Headquarters Law (SEM), among others.
For its part, the MICI has started talks with Ocea to finalize this investment, which would be generating approximately 500 jobs in its final phase, and contribute to the economic growth of the country.
With a focus on offering services to the region, this initiative represents a significant opportunity for investors seeking to diversify their operations in a favorable environment.
