Saudi Arabia explores investment opportunities in Panama

Panama received on Thursday a high-level delegation of companies from Saudi Arabia to present the advantages of investments in the country. 

The meeting was intended to convince visiting Saudi companies that Panama is the right place to establish its presence in Latin America and present potential investment opportunities in the country, the Presidency reported in a statement. 

The Saudi delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Investment and Investor Relations, Badr Alba Bakir. Along with them were entrepreneurs from the logistics, agribusiness, petrochemical and energy sectors, among others.

For the national representation were the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo; the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Federico Alfaro; Chancellor Janaina Tewaney; Minister Minister of Private Investment Facilitation, José Alejandro Rojas. 

The general administrator in charge of PROPANAMA, Ortiz de Zevallos, commented that there is great potential for synergy and collaboration between Panama and Saudi Arabia. “Both countries share a strong commitment to promoting economic growth and development, and there are important opportunities for joint ventures and associations,” he said.
