As more and more growth head west of Panama, the Government is trying to stay ahead of the game with newer infrastructure

The Ministry of Health in Panama has submitted an Environmental Impact Study to build a sanitation system in Arraiján and La Chorrera, Panama Province West.

The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study, which was submitted to the Ministry of Environment on October 21, 2016, specifies that “… for the purpose of drainage systems, the suggestion is to separate wastewater collections into two wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), the WWTP ‘Arraiján Este’ which will collect drainage from systems in the northern part of Arraijan, (Burunga, Perico river, Cáceres river, Potrero river) and the second WWTP -Caimito- will collect most of the drainage systems from the Chorrera and the rest of Arraiján.”

“.. the plan is to construct a 238 Km collector and wastewater two treatment plants. These works and complementary works will be executed in phases in order to ensure the consolidation of the system.  The project includes the final design and construction of household connections and sanitary sewer collection system networks, interconnection of existing sewer networks, mains sewers to transport water, as well as pumping stations and splice points to the main collectors in the Burunga Sanitation System.”

The EIA it indicates that the estimated amount of investment is $72,572,350.
