Sailing the high seas in the mountains of Panama

My friend Mark Heyer was inspired by the beginning of our Summer Season and high winds as he writes this magical story.  “Winds from the North lash the bridge of the mighty Volcan Baru as the Admiral prepares his ship for the coming storm.

On nights like these, I often imagine that our tiny isthmus of Panama is but a narrow bed of green kelp separating the two great oceans, Pacific and Atlantic.

The Caribbean Tradewinds heave across the continental divide, descending into Boquete as great rushing swells, pitching and rolling our flotilla of tiny home-yachts, sheltering against their force in the lee of the Admiral’s mighty cruiser, the Volcan Baru.
