The shipping company Royal Caribbean Group, reaffirmed its commitment to operate with Panama as the nerve center of its operations in Latin America, so it reinforces the strategic relationship it has maintained with the country since 2008, when it became the first cruise line to establish operations in Panama as a Home Port throughout the year.

The Regional Vice President of Destination Development of the Royal Caribbean Group, Preston Carnahan, praised the operational efficiency in these ports, highlighting the partnership with Colón 2000.

“Our partnership with Colón 2000, based on mutual trust and excellence, has prospered for the last two decades. Operational efficiency in ports has constantly exceeded our expectations, significantly improving the experience of our ships, crew and guests,” Carnahan said.

Meanwhile, Max Florez, director general of Ports and Auxiliary Maritime Industries of the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), stressed that Royal Caribbean’s tourism investment generates a positive domino effect on the local economy.

He assured that this dynamic is reflected in the increase in excursions, shopping, consumption in restaurants and hotels, as well as in the demand for local services, land transport, fuel and supplies, which strengthens the economy through the so-called “chimney-free industry.
