New Visa program offers consumers and issuers solutions for the instant issuance of digital cards and best practices aimed at accelerating the Digital First banking revolution that is already taking place in the region.
Visa Digital First facilitates the application of real-time cards, the creation of accounts and the delivery of instant payment credentials directly to the consumer’s mobile wallet or mobile banking application, allowing consumers to activate and spend faster without the need to have a physical card.
According to Belkis Barral, leader of Digital Products for Visa Latin America and the Caribbean, the new program offers a better digital experience to customers, which is relevant for the new generations of digital native consumers, who are reconfiguring the banking and financial world, becoming the new influencers of the future.
“Motivated by our purpose of being the best way to pay and receive payments for everyone, everywhere, we continue to evolve our solutions to offer innovative digital banking experiences that are ready to drive greater growth and capture the loyalty of the growing generation of consumers who are shaping the future of commerce,” Barra said.
In addition to generating greater revenue and customer retention for issuing banks, as well as lower costs associated with card issuance and better security, Visa’s Digital First program offers capabilities that can optimize the experience with mobile banking applications, positioning the program as a main hub for consumers to manage their digital credentials in an efficient and frictionless way.
With this new approach, Visa has changed its rules to allow the digital issuance of credit and debit cards around the world. This will provide banks, new issuers and fintechs in the region with greater flexibility in the way they issue Visa cards, which will allow them to launch exclusively digital products faster.
