Puerto Rico and Panama seek to strengthen their commercial cooperation

The governor of Puerto Rico, Pedro Rafael Pierluisi Urrutia, was received on the morning of Thursday, August 10 by President Laurentino Cortizo at the Palacio de las Garzas to discuss the relations of both countries

Cortizo and Pierluisi also discussed strengthening relationships and commercial cooperation. They also discussed the good practices that are handled in the use of clean energy. 

Manuel Cidre, Secretary of Economic Development of Puerto Rico, and the United States ambassador to Panama, Maricarmen Aponte, were present at the meeting. 

Pigerluisi led a mission made up of about 18 Puerto Rican businessmen visiting Panama with the aim of increasing the number of small and medium-sized

The meetings seek to promote a more favorable commercial exchange, opportunities to work together, the development of manufacturing, infrastructure, tourism and logistics,” said the statement of the Directorate of State Communication. 

The mission considers that Panama plays an important role in the distribution of pharmaceutical products, which has made medicines well marketed. 

The Puerto Rican business group holds this Thursday the “Forum of Investment Opportunities in Puerto Rico”,

Federico Alfaro, Minister of Commerce and Industries.
