The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, in his usual Thursday conference with the media, said that he held a meeting with the president of Naturgy Francisco Reynés and the general manager of the company for Panama, Sebastián Pérez, to whom he raised the personal and collective discontent of all Panamanians about the terrible service he is providing in the country.
Mulino assured that they must agree to deliver a consono service, first with the price that is not cheap at all, and second with their responsibility as State concessionaires regarding providing electricity to the Panamanian people.
He added that he agreed to start with a task of reorganizing the service through a guide to be delivered by the Public Services Authority (ASEP), where the enormous failures and discontents are reflected.
“The issue of the luminaires also has to be fixed. This country is a dark country, and we in our account pay those luminaries, since in the account they pass them to us, and there goes a little piece of the account to pay for luminaries. I hope to see an improvement in the next six months,” Mulino said.
He warned that if it is not complied with, in six months he will make decisions and added that what was discussed with Naturgy also applies to other electricity companies, such as ENSA.
On the other hand, on the report of the migration crisis in Darién, President Mulino reported that on November 13, repatriation flight number 26 had been carried out to Medellín, Colombia, with 43 people, adding up to 1031 people who have already been repatriated.
Meanwhile, on the subject of the Social Security Fund (CSS), he expressed that the only thing that is desired is to take some measures within the modification of the current law, to be able to go in an integrated whole, solving a problem of administration, health and investments to make it a stable entity.
