The President of the Republic of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo, inaugurated this Thursday the David International Fair, in the province of Chiriquí, which will be held until next March 26.
During the event, the president authorized the investment of $3.3 million so that this year, through the “A Better Stallion” program, 1,200 milk and meat bulls are delivered to small Panamanian producers.
It was also known that after the completion of this fair, the land used will function as the headquarters of the sixtieth Livestock Exhibition of the Central American Isthmus
In his speech, Cortizo welcomed all those attending the fair, especially those who come from abroad. “Our warm welcome to the exhibitors of Expica from Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama, who bring their best specimens to the fair, as a sample of the excellent genetic quality of the bovine species we breed in the region,” said the Panamanian ruler.
The “Better Stallion” program is executed through the National Directorate of Livestock of the Ministry of Agricultural Development (Mida)
In addition, the injection of millions of dollars that the fair brings to the economy, as well as the jobs it generates, benefit the province and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
The inauguration event was also attended by Judge María Eugenia López Arias, president of the Supreme Court of Justice; ministers and deputy ministers of state; the governor of Chiriquí, Juan Carlos Muñoz and other mayors.
