Parade Kicks off the Boquete Jazz and Blues Festival

News from Panama / Thursday, March 1st, 2012

Thursday March 1st marked the first day of the Boquete Jazz and Blues Festival and we started this years fest with a street parade with a traditional New Orleans street bank brought in for the opening.  Starting at the community players theater and joined in the town square by the performers, they marched up main street tossing beads, candy and lots of smiles to  towns folk  who are used to seeing the gringos do unusual things here in Boquete.  This year was by far the best parade which included the  dressed up golf carts, goddesses, horses and lot of well dressed people.

A fun time was had by all and the parade finished, arriving at the Panamonte Hotel for the kick off party.
