The Cabinet Council of Panama has decided to lift all the extraordinary social, economic and health measures that were in force since the COVID-19 pandemic, measures that were adopted by the previous government to mitigate the effects of the health crisis.

In 2021, through Cabinet Resolution No. 129 of December 29, the Cabinet Council had declared the special procedure for the acquisition of goods, services or works necessary during the pandemic concluded. However, this same resolution, in its article 3, kept in force the extraordinary measures adopted by the Executive Body due to the pandemic.

With the recent Cabinet Resolution No. 66-24 of July 23, 2024, the Cabinet Council has completely repealed Cabinet Resolution No. 11 of March 13, 2020 and Cabinet Resolution No. 129 of December 29, 2021. This new resolution definitively lifts the State of National Emergency declared by the previous government.

The approval of Cabinet Resolution No. 66-24 was headed by President José Raúl Mulino, marking a significant step towards the normalization of the country after the COVID-19 pandemic.
