Panamanians will not need a visa to travel to Canada

The Panamanian Foreign Ministry announced that as of this week, Panama is part of the Electronic Travel Authorization Program (eTA), allowing Panamanian citizens to travel to Canada without a visa.

The Foreign Ministry details that the e-TA authorization can be used by Panamanians to travel to Canada as a tourist or on a business trip for a maximum period of six months. The e-TA system is electronically linked to the passport and is valid for five years or until the passport expires.

The -eTA- program shortens the management time to obtain the entry permit to Canada, of all Panamanian citizens who have been granted a Canadian visa in the last 10 years, or who have a valid visa of -Non-Resident- to the United States.

When applying for such authorization, you must have a valid passport, complete the online form and pay $7.
