As of April 1, Panamanian citizens will be exempt from the requirement to have visas to enter Japan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
This exemption was announced as part of the message, sent by Yoshifumi Tsuge, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, during the reception commemorating the #120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations, held in this city.
“Faciliting the conditions of entry into Japanese territory, underlines the commitment of both nations to promote connectivity and the development of friendly and productive relations between their citizens,” the statement details.
It was explained that the visa waiver eliminates obstacles in short-term travel between the two countries, facilitates mobility and encourages cultural, tourist and commercial exchange.
The Panamanian Foreign Ministry highlighted the strategic significance of this measure, adopted at a good time by Japan.
In addition, it marks a fundamental milestone in the strengthening of bilateral collaboration in various sectors and facilitates tourism, cultural and commercial relations between both nations.
The Republic of Panama has been exempting Japanese citizens from the visa since 2012.
