Panamanian María Laura Castillero wins Grammy for Best Latin Tropical Album

Alma, corazón y salsa“, by Peruvians Tony and Mimy Succar, won the Grammy for Best Latin Tropical Album. This award goes to a Panamanian, the young producer and musical sound engineer María Laura Castillero, who participated in the project.

The Grammy Awards ceremony was held this Sunday, February 2 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles

The joy for the triumph was seen in the Instagram stories of the young Panamanian.

A few weeks ago, on her Instagram account, María Laura expressed her excitement for being nominated and thanked Tony and Mimy Succar for giving her the opportunity to be part of the album. “It has been an incredible experience to work on this project with such talented people who, for me, are family.”

In that same publication you can read Tony Succar’s answer: “You deserve this!!! Congratulations María, I’m so proud of you! Your talent and dedication is of the highest level! You worked very hard many sleepless nights.”

María Laura shared some images on Instagram dressed for her “first victory at the Grammys,” where she appears wearing a suit from an important Panamanian fashion firm.

This young woman grew up participating in several school theater productions and the San Lucas Evangelista Parish.

Alma, Corazón y Salsa” is an album that was recorded live at the Gran Teatro Nacional in Lima, Peru, which also showed the family connection that unites the Succars. The Peruvian duo is made up of mother and son.

In this nomination they competed against Marc Anthony, Juan Luis Guerra, Sheila E. and Kiki Valera.

The album is more than an album. According to Infobae, it is a “celebration of music, life and dreams that are revived over time.” In addition, it is the tribute to perseverance, unity and values that distinguish this duo.

It was released in some Peruvian media such as El Comercio that Mimy Succar was also nominated for important categories such as Best Tropical Latin Album for collaborating in “Bailar” by Sheila E., Best Global Music Performance for collaborating with “Bemna colorá”, along with Gloria Estefan and Sheila E.

While his son Tony Succar had other nominations as producer in Best Tropical Latin Album for his work in “Baila” by Sheila E and Best Global Music Performance for the production of “Bemba colorá”.
