The Vice President of the Republic, José Gabriel Carrizo, attended the inauguration of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, which was held this Sunday, representing President Laurentino Cortizo.
Carrizo explained that Panama will continue to strengthen good relations and cooperation with Brazil, for the benefit of both nations.
Foreign Minister Janaina Tewaney joined the Panamanian delegation at the highest level, he also attended the official events in Brasilia.
The Panamanian delegation will return to the country tomorrow, January 2.
Lula da Silva began his third term as president of Brazil on Sunday, in a ceremony where thousands of people attended. With his speech, he promised to combat the enormous social inequalities that divide the South American country.
