The Panamanian public force seized in one more day two tons of cocaine in two operations, and arrested seven possible drug traffickers, informed the Attorney General Friday.
The National Air Service (Senan) captured in the Caribbean Sea a rapid longboat that was transporting 1,888 kilograms of narcotics and caught six Colombian citizens who were on board, in what it is the biggest seizure in this year, said a spokesmen of the Senan.
With this action the seizures in this year realized by this institution in coordination with the District Attorney’s Office of Drugs, reach 36, what allowed to occupy 14,514 kilograms of illicit substances, according to message of the Senan on its official page of the social network Twitter.
The drug traffickers use principally the marine route as route and with preference they use crafts of the Go Fast type, constructed with resistant and light materials, they are moved by engines of high potency, which allow them to develop speeds of up to 50 nautical miles (almost 100 kilometers per hour).
Another action Friday was the search in a house at the eastern shore of the Panama Canal, made by the Attorney General’s Office.
In this action, 876 kilograms of drugs were seized, and a Panamamian citizen was arrested, who was possibly linked to the crime.
