Panama shows interest in Belarus farm machinery

Panama is showing its profound interest in looking into the possibilities of acquiring Belarus’ agricultural machinery. The matter was discussed during a visit of Belarus’ Ambassador to Ecuador Igor Poluyan to Panama, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian embassy.

The head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission presented copies of his credentials to acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama Luis Miguel Hincapie.

Meetings were also held with representatives of the Ministry of Public Security, Agricultural Development Ministry, Ministry of Commerce and Industries, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Panama with a view to giving a new impetus to bilateral relations in various areas and establishing business contacts. The parties discussed the ways to intensify the intergovernmental dialogue, steps to develop the legal framework for bilateral relations, the state and prospects of the Belarusian-Panamanian trade and economic cooperation.

“Panama has expressed its profound interest in exploring the possibilities of acquiring Belarusian farm machinery. An agreement was reached to exchange business visits in the near future in order to discuss trade and economic cooperation prospects,” the embassy said.

The parties also paid close attention to the opportunities for Panamanian businessmen to participate in the international agricultural exhibition Belagro 2018, which is due in Minsk on 5-9 June, and for the Belarusian trade mission to attend the Expocomer International Trade Exhibition in Panama in March 2019.
