We recently had a visit from the Minister of Security Rodolfo Aguilera who I know personally and he spoke of Panama’s continued efforts to improve security for it populous.

An article on Panamaamerica.com.pa reports that “… The Government will draw on outside expertise in order to address insecurity in the country, described as the main problem, according to the latest survey by Dichter & Neira. Now, the security minister, Rodolfo Aguilera Franceschi, will be hiring consultancy services on citizen security “, for which a tender bidding process has been started with a call for expressions of interest for the” Procurement of Consulting Services for “Technical Coordination of a national public safety strategy. ”

“…Another responsibility of the company that wins the consultancy service to the Ministry of Security, will be to ‘guarantee’ the dissemination of timely and accurate information on the strategy of citizen security in the mass media nationwide, in workshops and events run by public entities, private companies and at international events. ”

The consultancy firm hired by the Minseg will be paid “… using funds from Panama and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) agreement”.
