Between January and November 2016 imports of standard and luxury cars fell by 5% and 15% compared to the same period in 2015, respectively, while pickups grew by 20%.
Data from the General Comptroller of the Republic shows that total imports of new vehicles grew by 3.2% in the first eleven months of the year compared to the same period in 2015.
In this period, the import of SUV vehicles grew by 12%, vans fell by 1%, Pick ups grew by 20% and buses and trucks rose by 21% and 12%.

Although an increase of 3.2% was noted in the total registration of new vehicles in the period in question, a downward trend was seen in the growth rate that was registered in vehicle imports in previous months.
