Panama Metro Master Plan Awarded

The consortium made up of two Japanese companies and one French company will develop the pre-feasibility study for the new metro master network, with emphasis on lines 4 and 5.

The consortium, called Nippon Koei Lac-Sytra, is made up of the Japanese companies Nippon Koei Co. Ltd and Nippon Koei LAC Inc, and the French company Sytra.

Elcapitalfinanciero.com reports that “ …The consortium scored the highest among the six consulting firms that were shortlisted from a group of 26 companies that initially had expressed an interest in taking part in this process.

“… The project, which will cost $150,000.00, will be financed by funds from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), with which the Panama Metro signed a non-reimbursable technical cooperation agreement in April 2014.”

The work consists in carrying out a pre-feasibility analysis of the New Master Metro Network of Panama, with emphasis on lines 4 and 5, based on demand estimates developed under the TRANUS system, updating the MPSA database in terms of physical, socio-economic and urban development variables in the different corridors that make up the network.
