Foreign Minister Janaina Tewaney Mencomo, on behalf of the Government of Panama, signed the Convention on the Law of the Sea related to the preservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction
This historic action by Minister Tewaney Mencomo is Panama’s response to join the global commitment to take possession as one of the first countries to support that crucial instrument. The period for States to sign the agreement has begun and will last for two years, ending on September 20, 2025.
