On October 10, 2025, CEOE hosted the Panama Investment Forum in Madrid, where Panamanian ministers presented the country’s strategic advantages and investment opportunities to over 170 Spanish entrepreneurs. The event was organized by CEOE, the Embassy of Panama in Spain, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Panama, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
The forum featured two main sessions: one focused on Panama’s banking sector, regulations, and collaboration possibilities; and another centered on business and investment opportunities in the Panamanian market, emphasizing multilateralism, democracy, and sustainability as pillars of the new economic order.
Keynote speakers included Felipe Chapman, Minister of Economy and Finance of Panama; Javier Martínez Acha, Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Julio A. Moltó, Minister of Commerce and Industries. They highlighted Panama’s role as a strategic partner for Spanish companies, emphasizing the country’s stability, openness, and sustainable vision.
Amparo López Senovilla, Secretary of State for Trade of Spain, praised Panama’s position as a logistical and financial bridge between Europe and America. She also noted Panama’s exit from the FATF’s grey list and its economic growth exceeding 4%. Additionally, she highlighted the strengthened framework of the Global Gateway Agenda, focusing on public sector digitalization, improved interconnections, and the logistics corridor, which will promote infrastructure development and trade facilitation.
The forum concluded with a panel discussing Panama’s strategic role as a hub for logistics, commerce, and sustainable innovation. Discussions centered on opportunities in sectors such as industry, logistics, and foreign trade, reinforcing Panama’s position as a regional investment hub and a strategic partner for Spain and the European Union under the Global Gateway framework.
