The CAF loan is aimed at improving health conditions and support economic and urban development in the province of Panama.
With partial funding from CAF, amounting to $ 100 million, the Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN) will start implementing an investment program for the water sector and sanitation in the province of Panama.

These investments complement other strategic projects in different regions of the country, according to the vision of integrated water resources management promoted by CAF.

The Program will improve access, quality and sustainability of water supply services and sewerage until 2025, when it is estimated that the population of the province of Panama will reach 2.4 million. The total cost of the project is USD 125 million, of which 80% will be contributed by CAF and 20% by the national government through the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
