The inventory of apartment buildings and individual houses recorded an increase of almost 7% in the third quarter versus the same period in 2014.

From the Quarterly Report by the INEC:

The Census of Construction of Buildings, during the third quarter of 2015, investigated 1,325 works, 6.8 percent more than in the same period last year. The amount of constructed area was 145.266 square meters, of which 89.8 percent corresponded to the district of Panama and 10.2 percent to San Miguelito .

The behavior of the destinations in the district of Panama regarding the amount of square meters constructed, was as follows: apartment buildings 36.0 percent, individual homes 32.7 percent, offices 10.2 percent, warehouses 8.4 percent, commercial premises 5.1 percent , other destinations 2.5 percent, duplex 2.3 percent , hotels 1.4 percent, industrial premises 1.0 percent , schools 0.3 percent and religious centers 0.1 percent. Meanwhile, in San Miguelito, apartment buildings were the most noteworthy category with 70.5 percent, followed by individual housing 19.4 percent, duplex with 3.9 percent , warehouses 2.3 percent, religious centers 1.4 percent , offices 1.3 percent , stores 1.1 percent and industrial premises 0.1 percent .
