Between January and August this year, 43,976 new vehicles were registered in the country, almost 8% more than in the same period in 2015.
Of the total number of vehicles registered during the first eight months of the year, 41% were regular cars, 29% were SUVs, and 15% Pick ups, according to figures from the Office of the Comptroller General of Colombia.

March was the month in which the largest number of vehicles were registered, with 5,883 units, followed by May, when 5,647 were registered.
In the case of luxury cars, there was a reduction of almost 15% in the total number registered from January to August compared with the same period in 2015. The reduction contrasts with figures from previous years, it is the first time an annual decrease has been recorded since 2012.
SUV vehicle registration recorded an annual increase of nearly 18%, double the increase recorded in the same periods in 2014-2015.
