In addition to “… funds for the replacement of the floating Titan crane, the increase of the tugboat fleet and the construction of a second dump for the optimal management of the reservoirs … “, the budget also includes an allocation for acquiring a floating dock for boat maintenance.
Regarding the advantages of buying a dock with these characteristics, Prensa.com reports that the ACP’s chief, Jorge Luis Quijano, explained that “… this way you can take the equipment to the Atlantic or Pacific side to do the boat maintenance. With this dry dock, which can only be passed through the new locks, you can do maintenance on the dredges and the floating crane that will be purchased.“
