Panama and Peru strengthen trade ties to boost exports

The National Directorate of Export Promotion of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MICI) and representatives of the Economic Commercial Office of Peru (PROMPERU) in Panama held a meeting with the aim of exchanging ideas, exploring synergies and discovering new business opportunities between both countries.

Eric Dormoi, National Director of Export Promotion, highlighted the shared interest of both entities in working together to add value to companies in Peru and Panama. In this sense, he pointed out that this could be achieved through various initiatives, such as training, productive chaining, services and business agendas, among others.

For his part, Juan Luis Reus, economic-commercial advisor of PROMPERU, stressed that Panama represents a key logistics platform for his country to position goods and services in the Caribbean and Central America region.

The meeting was also attended by Giancarlo Yanisselli, senior specialist in commercial promotion of PROMPERU, and, on behalf of the MICI, Albalina de Vallarino, General Director of Exports; Marianela Gómez, General Director of Foreign Trade Services; and Walter Castro, head of Training and Technical Assistance to the Exporter.
