Sixty companies have already bought the documents needed to participate in the bidding for 350 MW of thermal energy in December.
The Electricity Transmission Company (ETESA) is preparing to launch in December the second part of the tender for 700 MW announced this year, of which 350 MW have already been awarded to the subsidiary of AES Corporation, an award which has been challenged by other market participants.
In an article on Panamaamerica.com.pa “… Gustavo Adolfo Bernal, deputy manager of Etesa said it has received a request for the second part of the public event to be postponed until next year, however, this decision is in the hands of the Secretary of Energy. ”
“… He noted that currently both the prices of natural gas and hydrocarbons on the market have increased, however, fuels such as coal which are more stable and do not have much variation could be more competitive in the next tender. “
