Volunteers for the Orphan Grain Train’s (OGT) New England Branch, located at 33 South Main Street in Terryville, loaded a 40 foot container of needed items that will be shipped to  Panama. This was the 44th  shipment since the branch was dedicated in 2014. OGT has the use of a warehouse that is owned by Mr. Bill Allread, who has made space available for this charitable work.

The Panama shipment was sent to a charitable group there that distributes the items to those in the area that are in need. The shipment contained: 18 hospital beds, canes, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, many boxes of medical supplies, rehab equipment, and patient lifts to help the area in the establishment of COVID response facilities. Also on the shipment were hygiene kits and supplies, school and layette kits, over 700 boxes of men’s, women’s, children’s and infants’ clothing, over 90 boxes of blankets and linens, 10 sewing machines, fabric bolts, 9 bicycles and 9 boxes of children’s gifts. The container has been sent to a port where it will be transported, by ship, to Panama.
