The Minister of Commerce and Industries, Julio Moltó met with executives of the multinational technology Oracle, where they addressed in an exploratory way the possibility of reactivating Oracle’s regional headquarters in Panama as a fundamental step to consolidate the country as a technological hub in the region.

The meeting also served to strengthen Panama’s position as a key player in the 4.0 economy, a model driven by technological innovation and digitization.

In this context, the meeting aligned efforts with the Government of Panama in its mission to improve the competitiveness of productive sectors, modernize the State through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and promote investment in human capital and technology.

On the other hand, Oracle reaffirmed its commitment to the training of new talents in the field of digital technologies, in order to reduce the gap of technology professionals that the country is currently facing.

In this sense, the implementation of programs such as Oracle Academy and Oracle University was proposed, with the aim of offering Panamanians better job opportunities in the technology sector and contributing to the development of the digital economy.
