Here in Boquete like in most places in Panama, we celebrated independence days and I wanted to share this with you.
BOQUETE
A friend of mine here in Boquete sent me this note and link to pictures of the parade last weekend celebrating the last of the November holidays here in Panama. Mark Heyer speaks from the heart and you can see what he means from looking into the faces of the participants in the parade, PRIDE!!
“For the first time since we moved here, I was able to get up close and personal with the November 28 parade. While many gringos seem to consider the parade just a source of noise and traffic congestion, what I found was utterly charming in its unselfconscious grace, skill and beauty. Unlike any parade I have attended in the United States, this parade is completely without commercial overtones, sponsorship or intrusive press coverage. This event is nothing more or less than the Panamanian people putting on an show solely for their own entertainment and pride.
It is with great affection for the pride and spirit of the Panamanian people that I offer these photos for your enjoyment.”
