Hotel Casco Antiguo
Landmark Hotel Investment Opportunity
A few weeks ago when I visited Panama City, I stayed at a friend of mines hotel in Casco Viejo or the Old City as it is known. WOW, what an experience staying in this part of Panama where the first pioneers who used the Panama Canal stayed. I had the top floor suite with a walk out patio that looked out over the Pacific and back to the City. As I walked through the halls at night and down the stairs towards the lobby, I looked out over a second level terrace to the lobby below and I had chills running down my back. It was like standing in the Haunted Mansion back in Disney watching the ghosts dancing and dining below. The history was strong in this place and at work in my mind. Dinner parties with fine dining and the who’s who of the day visiting and enjoying festivities of a bygone era.
We are truly pleased to offer this investment opportunity to private investors who wish to capitalize on the growth in this market segment. This area is like South Beach is to Miami and although there were those who thought that it was crazy to invest back in the days after Miami Vice, there are a lot of crazy rich people who did!
Hotel Casco Antiguo is an investment opportunity in the historic and quaint Casco Viejo district of Panama. The landmark Hotel Colon will be completely restored and operated as a design hotel with 23 rooms in phase 1A; 9 more rooms in phase 1B; and 40 new rooms built in phase 2 for a total of 72 rooms and suites. The target market will be sophisticated worldwide business and leisure travelers looking for exciting and interesting accommodations. The restoration will start within 6 months and be completed in 14-16 months. A passionate and experienced management team and a group of local architects and engineers will manage the quality, costs, and time of completion. A seasoned hotel and restaurant management team will supervise the marketing, sales and operations. The owners have already invested over $3 million and 4 years of hard work on the project.
Hotel Casco Antiguo will build on the history and style of the original Hotel Corco, later called the Hotel Colon, while adding modern conveniences and providing impeccable amenities and services. This is a timely opportunity to invest in a hotel with low operating costs in a booming real estate market. Built in 1915, the hotel is a landmark in the Casco Viejo or “Old City”. This rich historic center, included on UNESCO’s World Heritage Site List, was built around 1673 by the Spanish Garrison, the Catholic Church and other settlers. A major effort is currently underway to restore the district’s architecture and culture to reflect its 17th century roots. Most of the buildings represent a Spanish Colonial style reminiscent of the days prior to the founding of the Republic of Panama. Most recently, the Casco Viejo has been recognized as the embodiment of the very fabric of the country’s history. Once restored to its former grandeur, Panama City’s Casco Viejo will number among such world-renowned historic districts as Old San Juan in Puerto Rico, Cartagena de Indias in Colombia, and South Beach in Miami, Florida. The hotel is located within the Casco Viejo district at Calle B & Calle 12, number 755, San Felipe, Republic of Panama.
