The project to expand, remodel, and improve the Enrique Malek airport in the city of David in Chiriqui will be finished by 19 January 2013.
This project includes the extension of the runway to allow for the arrivals of 757’s and the capacity to accommodate more than 500 passengers moving through the airport terminal simultaneously.
According to Maritzel Martinez, the National Director of Airports of the Civil Aviation Administration, said this project cost a total of $27.4 million and was one of the campaign promises made by president Ricardo Martinelli. (Panama America)
