The Venezuelan company Chambers Trading Enterprises Inc. will finance the construction of the new port of Aguadulce, in Panama, which will require an investment of $1.25 billion.  Work on the new port is planned to start in January 2014. “This week the governor of the province of Cocle, Juan Carlos Rodriguez, acting as legal representative of the project, signed the documents that give financial support to undertake the work”, reported Prensa.com.

“We believe that with the opening of Rio Hato International Airport and the upcoming Port of Aguadulce, the impetus for the province of Cocle and the central provinces will be extremely important and will make it one of the most dynamic regions in the country,” said the legislator Noriel Salerno.

He added that there are also plans to concession the building of a large marina so that fishing boats and ships from Central America, Europe and the Caribbean come to the area.
