Miss Cayman Islands, Tonie Chisholm is in Panama refining her pageant skills as she prepares for the Miss Universe stage.

She will be in Central America for three weeks of intensive pageant training. Committee chair Derri Dacres-Lee said the Miss Cayman Islands Committee recognised the need to raise the standard of the local pageant on the international stage.

She said that is why Miss Chisholm will be training under renowned model and talent trainer Katty Pulido.

“We need to really partner with the best out there and Katty Pulido has actually trained maybe 80 Venezuelan beauty queens that have actually won international titles, and that’s where we’re going that’s where we’re aiming,” said Ms. Dacres-Lee.

Miss Chisholm, who is accompanied by committee member Donna Bush, will be working six days a week on etiquette, posture, make-up, catwalk skills and fitness. She is set to return home in early September.
