Living in Panamonte Estates

News from Panama / Sunday, February 10th, 2019

When Susie and I moved to Boquete in 2007, we chose Valle Escondido as my Mom and Son were with us and we bought a place that gave us each some privacy and space.  Not to mention the beautiful views and the ambiance.  Over the years, I got to know our market in Boquete well and decided to keep my eyes open for a lot that I could build our future home on.  Well, we found that lot here in our gated community of Panamonte Estates and the rest is history.

In 2014 we moved here and I cannot express how happy we were with that decision.  We found a community that was much smaller with only 20 homes and very close so of course, we made a lot of new friends quickly as everyone welcomed us into Panamonte Estates.

Fast forward to 2021 and a lot has happened since we moved here.  The community that was started 17 years ago is maturing and a number of people have gotten older, yours truly too.   This is natural in an aging demographics and with that we can offer a new opportunities for another like minded couple.  Now the next generation of Panamonte Estate owners are moving in and building.   There are some fine homes available now and this  is great time to consider Panamonte Estates for your home or investment.    We have only a couple of homes left on the market.  One recently sold where a husband passed on and the wife wanted to return to the US.  Her neighbor bought the home within a month as they understood the value we have to offer here.

We have two large parks in Panamonte Estates, one of which sits on the river which is always nice to visit.  Both are extensively landscaped and have pathways that have also just been upgraded for easy strolling. Both are a stones throw from my front door.

Take a moment a see our neighborhood from a bird’s eye perspective by clicking on the following picture.

Other great news. After nearly 10 years, a burdensome property tax on PE common areas has been reduced by 90% for an annual savings of about $8,000.  This savings is part of the funds that  have been deployed to upgrade electrical, security and water systems and to provide improvements to our roads and large parks.

Our new electrical upgrade will be good for many more years to come and will be professionally maintained.  Our new water service upgrades include clean outs and air pressure valves and more.  We enjoy having a 4 inch water main with over 100 PSI pressure on the street.

Again, the most important asset we have here in Panamonte is family.  My neighbor put it perfectly.  “When   people in the US ask what is it like to live in Panamonte Estates, my reply:   It’s like living next to my cousins, aunts and uncles. We have our own lives but we are family. We care about each other, we socialize together and help one another without hesitation. My immediate family members may be 3,000 miles away but my Panama family lives next door.”

The outlook is bright for Panamonte.   It remains, for many, to be the most desirable neighborhood to live in Panama.

Why is that?

Perhaps because we are a small  community of 20 well maintained homes on large, park-like lots. Or, the abundance of green spaces provided by common gardens with creek, walking paths, wild flowers and fruits trees all on a level grade. Maybe it is the mountain views, or privacy yet convenience to 8 nearby popular restaurants along with 24-hour security. Or, all of the above with a diverse group of owners who call  Panamonte Estates home. We come from France, England, Australia, US, Texas, Canada, Guyana, and beyond. We socialize together, care about each other and help one another at the drop of a hat.

I would welcome the opportunity to show you our great little community.
