Island trails beckon to be explored where you stroll over gentle rollings hills and lush jungle all the while peeking out of the canopy to stunning ocean views and dozens of other islands many of which are just a kayak ride away! This property is truly Paradise found.  Build your dream home, an Eco resort for diving, fishing, island exploring, maybe a place to keep horses and ride down to the beach at sunset.

Consisting of 6 fincas from approximately 7 hectares to a total for 78 hectares, this property has incredible 360 views of the Pacific Ocean, out to the Islands and back to the mountains.

Located on Boca Brava Island that is a couple of hundred yards off of Boca Chica on the mainland, the property is accessible over land and by water or helicopter.  If you use Google Earth, send us a note for a KMZ file and we will fly you here for free!

There is huge potential for an Eco resort or subdivision for a sustainable Eco community with a possible tie in with a nearby resort on the water that is also for sale.

The prices start at $675,000 for a 10 hectare tract or over 24 acres, just 64 cents per square foot of land area, again fully titled.

The southerly boundary is the servidumbre or public access road that leads back to the island across Boca Chica harbor.

Boca Brava Island has electrical service with future plans for expansion to the property.

The Province of Chiriqui is known for it’s highlands, Boquete being the most popular of these areas and it’s coast, Boca Chica being the most popular spot.  David is the Capital City which provides all of the goods and services, including excellent health care as well as having a large regional airport.   It is currently undergoing a huge terminal and runway expansion for future direct flights from the US.

Isla Boca Brava may be accessed by helicopter from David’s airport or by boat from the nearby port of  Boca Chica.    Additional ports at Pedregal and near Sabana offer access to the area as well.

One can literally spend days exploring these islands by kayak or a small boat.   At times one will see a mega yacht parked off of Gamez Island and it is known that Jimmy Buffet and many other celebrities have parked off shore when they cruise the waters off of Panama to Costa Rica.

Head out offshore for diving and you will run into pelagic marine mamals and fish including huge hammerhead sharks, whale sharks, manta rays and humpback whales.

The offshore waters offer an abundance of outdoor activities including  diving and surfing.  For the fisherman, the choices are endless culminating in the world famous Hannibal Bank that is one of three locations in the world for Black marlin and huge Yellow fin Tuna.

Here is a video of a 700 pounder caught from one of Paradise Fishing Lodge’s boats.

Isla Coiba is just 50 miles away and is a designated UNNESCO World Heritage Site.  It is the largest island off the Pacific coast south of Vancouver.  It offers incredible diving, whale watching, coral reefs, hiking and wildlife exploration.

Back to shore and on the Island of Boca Brava we see lush tropical fruit trees and flowering plants as well primary forest and streams  a fantastic canvas for a vision of either a private estate home for a marine and Eco enthusiast and or a combination first class Eco resort.

Chill space with a bar and restaurant.

Maybe a spa up on the ridge overlooking the Pacific Ocean and back to the mountains

Panama

In much the same fashion as neighboring Costa Rica, Panama is emerging now as a prime destination for North American and European tourists including those seeking second homes or retirement alternatives.  International tourism has more than doubled since 1994 to over 900,000 visits per year, increasing 15 percent between 2007 and 2008. Even during the downturn, in 2009 an additional 5 % increase occurred. Last year it was estimated that close to 1,200,000 visitors came to Panama.

Panama City is just 2.5 hours by plane from Miami and already receives more than 400 international flights each week.  Here Panama offers the ambiance similar to Miami with a combination of the old city of Havana.

Affluent North and South Americans are flocking to Panama not only for its easy access but also for its natural beauty that includes such diverse and pristine ecosystems as tropical rain forest, virgin beaches, and volcano high-altitude mountain environments, which rival any destination in Central America.  Let us now leave the City and learn more about this wonderful country.   The country’s economy has been growing at a strong and sustained rate in recent years, driven primarily by expansion of the Panama Canal, international business and increased tourism.

Another attractive draw for international tourism is that Panama offers a modern health care system with American-trained, English-speaking doctors and several top hospitals and clinics that meet U.S. standards, yet the cost of health care services is a fraction of comparable costs in the U.S. Finally, Panama continues to enjoy a unique relationship with the U.S. characterized by a deep commitment to the preservation of its security situation and the rule of law, resulting from the Canal’s strategic importance and the scale and international significance of its banking system.

In summary, Panama is a phenomenally beautiful and diverse country with infrastructure that rivals many developed nations. Its unique beauty and potential have begun to attract international recognition, showing that Panama is in fact the next resort frontier of the Americas.

A short flight from Panama City takes you to David, the second largest city in Panama.

The Chriqui Coast and Boca Chica

Located just below the Costa Rican border on the westernmost of Panama, the province of Chiriqui is one of Panama’s great natural treasures.  Within its borders lie an incredible coastal region and two national parks one of which is Coiba Island that was identified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2005.  Coiba is the largest of over 50 mostly uninhabited islands off the Chiriqui Coast.  The islands are situated offshore of a 100 mile estuary system within the boundaries of the Golfo de Chiriqui Marine Park which insulates the archipelago from the influences of the mainland.  It is an incredibly diverse ecology of birds, plants, fish and, increasingly, eco-tourist visitors—and hence a true source of wealth for the Republic of Panama.

Within an hour and a half you can also be in the mountains enjoying the higher altitude cool climate of Boquete.   Boquete has been written up in newspapers around the world.  It’s eternal spring weather, jagged peaks, rivers, waterfalls proximity to excellent shopping and health care has made this a perfect place to visit.  Boquete is home to the second national park in Chiriqui, the Volcan Baru national Park and the La Amistad National Park which stretches its way across the mountains into Costa Rica.

This diverse geographic area is just now being discovered and with the expansion of the International Airport in David, and a new 4 lane highway to the highland town of Boquete, it is surely to grow and become a major tourist destination in Central America.

Located just an hour from David, the capital of the Chiriqui province lies the area of Boca Chica namesake for the little fishing village where the residents live a quiet, peaceful life. This tiny pueblo is at the end of the road and where the vast Pacific Ocean begins.   In 2007 everything about Boca Chica began to change significantly, beginning with a smooth two-lane asphalt road that was completed a year later. Eventually will come the inevitable rush of tourists, developers and entrepreneurs into the once reclusive area.

The barrier islands that surround the approach to this little village protect it from the aggressive wind and water conditions sometimes encountered on the open ocean. Here one finds a quiet, peaceful, deep water anchorage that serves both local and transiting boats alike. Big game and commercial fishing have long been the main boating activities of Boca Chica, but it is really a center for all types of boats.  It is also a perfect place for cruising sailors to come and enjoy some of the treats not available while at sea, i.e. cold beer, clean laundry and hot, fresh water showers! However, Boca Chica is more than a stopover for passing cruisers and put in place for local fishermen. It is also a gateway—a gateway to a world of adventure that starts with the hundreds of tropical islands just beyond the end of the road.

Many of the islands are close and offer a great opportunity for a quick fun-filled day trip.  One can also enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at any of the resorts located throughout the area including the best resorts in the area, Seagull Cove Lodge and the Boca Chica Plantation Resort.
