Investment opportunities on the Chiriqui Coast

One of the reasons that I decided to live in Panama and specifically Boquete was the proximity to the Chiriqui Coast.  The fishing offshore is some of the finest in the world and the hundreds of islands offer Robinson Crusoe adventures some within 5 minutes from the shore.  While I live in the mountains, I can be down in Boca Chica within an hour and a half.

The coastline around the Boca Chica area is unlike the beaches of Coronado to the east and most of the coast to the west as it has contour with hills and forests that come right down to the water.  While you can buy and build right on the beach, there are also elevations of 50 to 60 feet above the water on  cliff side parcels that offer spectacular views out to the ocean.  There are a few places where the Howler monkeys still live along with abundant wildlife that you can see from your front porch.

You can take a short boat ride out to several islands offshore where the water is turquoise and the sandy beaches are white just like on the Caribbean  coast.  The island waters have abundant coral and aquatic life for snorkeling or dramatic drop offs on underwater sea mounts for the experienced diver.

I have several areas where I have been actively selling land, both small lots as well as larger tracts, many to investors who understand that this area is way undervalued at this time and given the fact that Chiriqui is growing, there will be upward pressure in the pricing in the near future.  If you look at the pricing in say Buenaventura where ocean front beach lots sell for $1,500 per square meter and then in Pedasi for $450 per square meter you will understand what I am talking about when I can find a one acre lot with all utilities and private road access for under $65 per square meter.  I am not talking about any rights of possession land but fully titled land with ownership to the 22 meter mark from high tide which is rare in Panama.
