In order to promote religious tourism, the Interreligious Committee of Panama and the Mayor’s Office of Panama implemented the “The Afternoon of the Temples” initiative, which will allow the public to learn about the different houses of prayer and the cultures that coexist in the capital city.
La Tarde de los Templos, with the collaboration of the direction of Las Etnias of the capital’s mayor’s office, is a pioneering initiative that seeks to publicize the religious diversity that Panama City has and that people can establish intercultural communication where respect prevails.
The director of Las Etnias of the Mayor’s Office of Panama, Samuel Samuel Samuels, said that this opening of the temples to the public will promote religious tourism and is a learning tool to learn a little more about other cultures, religions and traditions that coexist in Panama City.
Samuels added that the Interreligious Committee of Panama and the Mayor’s Office of Panama will make an evaluation of the development of the initiative and intend to carry it out every year.
