InteRed and Panama Digital Gateway signed an agreement for the installation of an Internet Exchange Point (IXP) at the Sparkle data center, located in Panama.
The main objective of this agreement is to manage the IP traffic exchange node in the country and carry out related activities that benefit its membership and all the actors involved in the Panamanian digital ecosystem.
José Hernández, president of InteRed, stressed that the agreement with Panama Digital Gateway is of great importance for the development, transformation and creation of Panama’s digital ecosystem.
“Thanks to this collaboration, InteRed will be at the center of connectivity, which reinforces Panama’s position as the Digital Hub of the Americas,” Hernández said.
For his part, Gustavo Lagrotta, general manager of Panama Digital Gateway, stressed the positive impact that this collaboration will have on Panama’s digital ecosystem.
“The presence of InteRed in our data center is a fundamental piece to transform the digital ecosystem of Panama. Being part of this development in Panama is something that makes us deeply proud,” Lagrotta said.
This agreement marks an important milestone in Panama’s evolution as a global connectivity center, facilitating data exchange and network interconnection, which will bring with it a significant boost to the country’s technological and economic development.
