IAI WILL ESTABLISH ITS REGIONAL OFFICE IN PANAMA

The Deputy Minister of Multilateral Affairs and International Cooperation, Yill Otero, met with the executive director of the Inter-American Institute (IAI), Anna Stewart Ibarra, who officially issued the news that this intergovernmental institute will establish its regional office in Panama.

“We continue to consolidate ourselves as a regional hub,” said Deputy Minister Otero, after the official announcement of the executive director of the IAI.

During the meeting, in which the national secretary of SENACYT, Eduardo Ortega-Barría, was also present, the teamwork and technical support of the Ministry of the Foreign Ministry was highlighted; likewise, the valuable opportunity for collaboration that this announcement represents for the countries of Central America and the Caribbean.

“Without a doubt, this is a wonderful way to close the week!” the deputy minister exclaimed conclusively, after the gratifying news.

The Inter-American Institute (for Global Change Research or IAI), is a regional intergovernmental institution that “promotes interdisciplinary scientific research and capacity development to inform decision-making on the continent and beyond.”
