Green Light for Tender of Logistics Area in Tocumen

News from Panama / Tuesday, July 10th, 2018

Following the halting of the bidding process to build Phase I of the Free Zone in May, the General Directorate of Public Procurement has decided to lift the suspension.

On May 18, a claim filed by Transeq-Estrella was published, arguing that in the bidding process there were “distinct inconsistencies, omissions and procedural flaws that must be reviewed.”

However, on June 4, the ruling of the General Directorate of Public Procurement was published, ordering the “lifting of the suspension of the public act”, so that the adjudication process could continue.

Toronto Global Holdings Corp, Levantina Ingeniería y Construcción, Ingeniería PC S.A., Mota-Engil Engenharia E Construcao S.A. and Transeq S.A. participated in the tender process, with offers of $14.1 million, $14.1 million, $14.1 million, $13.9 million, and $13.5 million, respectively.

According to the tender documents, Mota-Engil Engenharia E Construcao S.A. was the participant that obtained the highest rating, scoring a final weighting of 91.42.
