Panama prepares for the 2024 Robotics Olympiad

The Executive Director of FUNDESTEAM, called on schools, colleges, students, parents and coaches to register their teams for the regional Olympics, whose registration deadline is next May 31

The Ministry of Education approved the official calendar of the next 15 Regional Robotics Olympics 2024, which will be held in the official and private schools of the country.<br /> On June 21 will be the inauguration of the first Regional Olympiad, which will take place in West Panama, at the Tomás Guardia Engineer School.

The National Foundation for the Development of STEAM (FUNDESTEAM) and the Ministry of Education, announced that registrations are open for all teams that can register to participate in the different robotics regionals.

In these Olympics, each robotics team will be made up of two to three participants, and the teams can compete up to three regional teams and thus add the highest scores that allow them to qualify for the National Olympiad.

The last Regional Olympiad is scheduled for August 9 in West Panama at the Coronado International School, and the National Olympiad is scheduled for August 27, 28 and 29 at the Figaly Convention Center.

The winning teams of the National Olympics in the different categories will represent Panama in the World Robotics Olympiad (WRO-2024) that will be held this year on November 28, 29 and 30 in the city of Izmir, Turkey.

The theme for the Robotics Olympiad this year 2024 is “Ear Allies”, “Allies of the Earth”, and there are eight categories of competition: Robotic Missions Primary (8-12 years); Robotic Missions Junior (11-15 years old), Robotic Missions Senior (14-19 years); Future Innovators primary (8-12), Future Innovators Junior (11-15) and Future Innovators Senior (14-19); Future Engineers (14-19) and Robotic Sports (11-19).

“It is important that the teams register as soon as possible by entering the wropanama.org portal, review all the rules of competition, fill out their documentation and prepare with their best robotics projects for this great national and international educational scientific call,” Dominguez concluded.
