From July 17 to 19, 2023, the first Expo Aventuras Tierras Altas will take place in the province of Chiriquí, an event that seeks to position, promote and strengthen the tourist and commercial offer of the Tierras Altas district.

The CEO of the Tourism Promotion Fund (PROMTUR) Panama, Fernando Fondevila, indicated that within the framework of Expo Aventuras Tierras Altas, travel agencies specialized in the sale of multi-destination packages, mainly for travelers from Canada and the United States, will learn first-hand about the iconic experiences that make Tierras Altas a must-visit destination for travelers from all over

He added that this event represents a new opportunity to continue positioning Panama in the main issuing markets and joins the international marketing and promotion efforts developed in that region, which have been promoted in a sustained manner for more than 24 months.

For his part, for Maruquel Gálvez, on behalf of the Chamber of Tourism, Commerce and Industries of the Highlands, pointed out that the Expo is a prominent example of how through mechanisms such as the Destination Management Committee, it can achieve effective governance that leads to projects that promote and improve the experience of visitors and tourists in the destination.

The event that proposes to position the Highlands District as a sustainable tourist destination, thanks to the richness and diversity of its natural and cultural heritage, will provide the opportunity for local and international buyers to establish alliances with hotels, local tour operators, among other actors, to consolidate an attractive tourist offer that generates a constant movement of visitors every month of the year.

Through this event, the Chamber of Tourism, Commerce and Industries of the Highlands, together with the Tourism Authority of Panama and PROMTUR Panama, seek to unify efforts that strengthen the strategies around tourism, in synergy for the promotion of the tourism products of this region.
