Cuba and Panama were reconnected through the inauguration of a charter flight that the Cuban Aviation airline will carry out weekly on Monday and Friday.
“With the takeoff of the IL96 aircraft from the José Martí International Airport to Tocumen Airport, the weekly charter operations linking the cities of Havana and Panama are officially inaugurated,” said Cubana de Aviación.
He also indicated that the rescue of this route will allow “position” the airline “in this important destination in Latin America”.
For his part, the Cuban ambassador to Panama, Victor Manuel Cairo Palomo, stressed that this action takes place in the context of the 95th anniversary of Cubana Aviación.
“This flight contributes to strengthening the ties between the two countries and confirms that Cuba and Panama are a great connection,” the diplomat said.
Cubana de Aviación, which currently operates in codeshare with the Panamanian flag airline Copa Airlines, established a regular route to the Central American capital on July 24, 1974.
