Costa Rica and Panama signed a bilateral agreement to promote culture, art and creative industries, which includes exchanges in research, training in arts and cultural heritage, as well as courses, workshops, tours, conferences or internships.
The agreement envisages promoting exchange programs in the fields of research, training in arts and cultural heritage, as well as in technical, professional or specialized knowledge in arts and culture, through actions of non-refundable international technical cooperation, such as courses, workshops, tours, conferences and internships.
In addition, both countries will collaborate in the participation of artists in festivals, in the promotion of literature, activities to promote, promote and disseminate creative industries, dissemination of audiovisual and cinematographic content, concerts of classical, folk and popular music; staging of dance, theater, exhibitions, among others.
The agreement was signed in San José by the Minister of Culture and Youth of Costa Rica, Jorge Rodríguez, and the Minister of Culture of Panama, María Eugenia Herrera, after a working meeting.
“This agreement allows to strengthen the ties of cooperation in cultural and artistic matters, between Costa Rica and Panama, strengthens existing cultural relations through international cooperation, and will also allow us to promote the projection of our artists and promote the exchange of technical knowledge,” Minister Rodríguez said in a statement.
For her part, Minister Herrera said that the objective is that “through cultural diplomacy we will strengthen mutual cooperation and recognize the importance of culture and education for social integration and the construction of peaceful coexistence.”
“Panama recognizes that, through this legal instrument, the development of creative industries is activated through activities to promote, promote and disseminate cultural enterprises and exchanges of artists and specialized personnel will be promoted in the field of technical competence of both ministries,” said the Panamanian minister.
