Chiriquí offers a variety of attractions that combine nature and culture. From the district of David, with its museums and history, to the ecological adventures of Boquete and Tierras Altas, with the popular coffee circuit and hiking in landscapes such as the Barú Volcano. Gloria De León, administrator of the Panama Tourism Authority, highlighted that this recognition “allows to show the world the cultural richness, biodiversity and hospitality” of the region, strengthening its position as a world-class ecotourism destination. For her part, Jennifer Janson, Executive Director of Marketing of PROMTUR Panama, said that this award redefines tourism in the country and establishes new standards for the region.
The award comes at a time when Chiriquí has gained relevance in other publications such as National Geographic and Travel + Leisure, consolidating its reputation as a destination for adventure and responsible tourism. In addition to its diverse landscape, ranging from mountains to beaches, the region is recognized for its gastronomy, biodiversity and quality coffee production.
