Having just returned from a vacation and exploratory to Chile and Argentina, I was very impressed with what I saw in Santiago, Chile. Business is booming and everyone seemed happy with their life there. Most importantly, they are part of a economic model that the US could learn a lesson from.
After reading Dan Mitchell’s post The Second Social Security Crisis, I drilled down to his discussion of the economic model of saving and pension plans in Chile. The Overwhelming Case for Chile’s Private Social Security System
I find this of great importance as I recently opted for Early Retirement Benefits as I am not one of those who believe that we can keep printing money and issue IOUs to keep America afloat.
I am keeping my eyes open on Chile and I will be returning there soon.
